I would like some information on DISTAR reading system. Is it a Orton-gillingham Multisensory way of teaching reading? I have a 10 year son with reading disability. We have him going after school to a tutor using the wilson reading system. He is doing very well he just passed his first book 100%. Need to know if we go a head and use Distar at school well it confuse him? The school doesn't have anyone to teach the Wilson . Also the Distar book (2) are 15 years old. I was told when he is out of the books the teach will use SRA. My son confuses rules in reading,letters,hard time remembering sight words. Any information on these reading systems will be helpful....
