I am looking for parents in Connecticut with developmentally disabled children. I am the Director of the Easter Seals Transition Center. We have been open for 6 months and as IEP time nears, we to date, have been unable to convince the school systems that Transition and Life Skills Training should be addressed prior to the individual entering the DMR system as adults. While I could give a list of reasons that make Life Skills training so important, I won't. You probably already know. But to get an IEP team to see the advantages is difficult if the parents don't know that this service is available.
