Need issues in Sped to kick-start my college level class

I am a graduate assistant teaching an intro level course in special education at Minot State University in North Dakota.
After filling out evaluations of the course so far, students expressed a desire for more in-class discussion.
Can anyone help me out by giving me some hot topics or issues that will get these students fired up?
